Our team for 2023-2024 season



PhDr. Eva Chalupová, PhD (46)


Position: Club Secretary, Head Coach, Stingrays group coach

Does all the background paper work and communication of the club. Supervises coaches, helps them to prepare training plans, gives feedback to their work, helps with communication with the parents.


Coaching background: 1st class swimming coach qualification of the Czech Swimming Federation (the highest possible), has been coaching since she was 18 years old – swimming for triathletes of all ages (was one of the founders of Etriatlon.cz) and swimming in Prague Sharks which she founded in 2005.

Swimming experiences: Was swimming in Bižuterie Jablonec since 8 years old, attended Sport High School at Jablonec, did underwater swimming (the one with the monofin) for one year at Liberec. Has 6 gold medals from Czech Nationals in Junior Categories (50 FC and relays), was many times Czech Champion and member of the Czech Team in Pool Life Saving Sport.


Education: Master degree in Sport Sciences (specialization Swimming Coaching), PhD in Sport Psychology at Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague, Master degree in Clinical Psychology at Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague (Erasmus exchange student at University of Glamorgan, Cardiff, UK, awarded summer fellowship at Albert Ellis Institute, NY, USA)


Occupation: Having 3 kids, working as a Sport Psychologist, teaching Developmental and Sport Psychology courses for coaches at Charles University and University Jana Evangelisty Purkyně, writing for sport magazines and working for Prague Sharks


Hobbies: Prague Sharks… and swimming, running, bike, skiing, climbing the mountains and reading scientific books about parenting and coaching (and more or less successful practical application on her own and others´ children😊)

Jakub Gabriel Jiroušek (27)


Position: Sharks group coach


Coaching background: 3rd class swimming coach qualification of the Czech Swimming Federation, one year assistant coach at Sanford Squids Swimming Club, Carolina, USA, 7 years in the club


Swimming experiences: swam in Prague Clubs till 20 years old, swam for one year at Sanford Squids Swimming Club, Carolina, USA


Education/Occupation: Master degree student of Sport Sciences (specialization Swimming Coaching) at Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague

Barbora Štěpánková (27)


Position: Octopus group coach


Coaching background: 2nd class swimming coach qualification of the Czech Swimming Federation,3rd class swimming teacher qualification of the Czech Association of Swimming Schools, 7 years of coaching little and young children at different swimming schools, 5 years in the club

Eva Novotná (42)


Position: Octopus and Dolphins group coach, Adults group coach


Coaching background: 3rd class swimming coach qualification of the Czech Swimming Federation, 3rd class swimming teacher qualification of the Czech Association of Swimming Schools, has been teaching swimming in our club for 7 years and for different swimming schools for 8 years, long time member and instructor of Water Life Saving Association (member of Czech Red Cross), trained medic, also experienced downhill skiing instructor


Swimming/sport experiences: former swimmer and triathlete


Education: Master degree in Philosophy, Bc. Degree for Rescue Services

Kateřina Janovská (42)


Position: Adults and Octopus group coach


Coaching background: 3rd class triathlon coach qualification of the Czech Triathlon Federation, has been coaching kids in swimming and triathlon since 17 years old, writes training plans, goes to camps and competitions


Swimming/sport experiences: swims from childhood, attended Sports School Emila Zátopka at Zlín, participated at Czech Nationals. Hobby triathlete – her best result is third place in Ironman 70.3. in 2015.

Occupation: having two children, swimming and triathlon coach of kids and adults


Hobbies: hobby sport of all kinds, nature, mountains, walking with the camera
